It's a very bad implementation and has quite a bad reputation. Whenever
someone mentions it, the first advice is to let your ALSA app use
pulseaudio, then have pulseaudio exit through JACK, which is what I'm
doing now. This works, but it requires more work, if you intend to use
multiple ALSA applications and process them separately in a JACK
environment.

Well, it wouldn't be any work at all, really, but it just doesn't work
right and it never has.
